Section 5Checks And Adjustments
This section consists of two s eparate procedures. The first, a Performance
Check, is used to determine compliancewith thePerformance Requirements in
the Specification. Thesecond is the Adjustment Procedure, that provides the
instructions on how to adjust theinstrument and return it to operation within the
specification.
In both procedures,front- and rear-panel controls and connectors, on the
instrument undertest, are fully capitalized (e.g., 300 kHz RESOLUTION).
Control and connectornames on test equipment and internal controls and
adjustments forthe instrument under test are initial capitalized (e.g., Time/Div,
Geometry,etc.).
Limits, tolerances, andwaveforms given in this section are guides to adjustments
and checks. They are not instrument specifications, ex cept when listed in the
PerformanceRequirement column of the Specification Tables in Section 1 of this
manual.

Recommended Equipment List

The following equipment and accessory item s arereq uired to do the Performance
Check and/or Adjustment Procedures. Broad sp ecifications are followed by a
piece of equipment that meets these specification s; in most cases, the recom-
mended instrumentwas used in preparing the procedures that follow.
1. TestOscilloscope
VerticalAmplifier:
30 MHz Bandwidth, 1 mV Sensitivity.
TimeBase:
10 ns/Division to 5 ms/Division sweep speeds, triggeringto 5 MHz.
For example: aTEKTRONIX 7603 Oscilloscope with a 7A18 Dual-Trace
Amplifier and a 7B53A Dual TimeBase, or a TEKTR ONIX 11403A
Oscilloscope with a11A34V Video Amplifier and an 11T5H VideoTrigger.
Also a 10X probe, P6106 (TektronixPart No. 010-6106-03).
