WARNING
The outboard motor can be seriously damaged by a collision while operating or trailering. Damage could make the outboard motor unsafe to operate.
If the outboard motor hits an object in the wa- ter, follow the procedure below.

1.Stop the engine immediately.
2.Check the control system and all compo- nents for damage. Also, check the boat for damage.
3.Whether damage is found or not, return to the nearest harbor slowly and careful- ly.
4.Have a Yamaha dealer check the out-
board motor before operating it again.

Replacing fuse

WARNING
Substituting an incorrect fuse or a piece of wire could allow excessive current flow. This could cause electric system damage and a fire hazard.
If a fuse has blown, replace the fuse according to the following procedure.
1.Turn the main switch to the “” (off) po- sition.
2.Remove the fuse box cover.
3.When replacing the main fuse, remove the screws, and then remove the main fuse. Install the spare main fuse, and then tighten the screws.
