Chapter 44 Load Sharing

Active

Select this option to enable Equal-Cost MultiPath (ECMP) routing on the

 

Switch.

 

 

Criteria

Select the criteria the Switch uses to determine the routing path for a

 

packet.

 

Select src-ipto have the Switch use a hash algorithm to convert a packet’s

 

source IP address into a hash value which acts as an index to a route path.

 

Select src-dst-ipto have the Switch use a hash algorithm to convert a

 

packet’s source and destination IP addresses into a hash value which acts

 

as an index to a route path.

 

 

Aging Time

Specify the time interval (from 0 to 86400 in increments of 10) in seconds

 

at which the Switch sends an ARP request to update a resolved next-hop’s

 

MAC address.

 

 

Discover

Specify the time interval (from 0 to 86400 in increments of 10) in seconds

Time

at which the Switch sends an ARP request to update an unresolved next-

 

hop’s MAC address.

 

 

Apply

Click Apply to save your changes to the Switch’s run-time memory. The

 

Switch loses these changes if it is turned off or loses power, so use the

 

Save link on the top navigation panel to save your changes to the non-

 

volatile memory when you are done configuring.

 

 

Cancel

Click Cancel to begin configuring this screen afresh.
