Remote Management

16.1 Overview

This chapter explains how to configure the remote management and access control settings on the P-870HN-51D.

16.1.1What You Can Do in this Chapter

The TR-069screen lets you configure the P-870HN-51D’s TR-069 auto- configuration settings (Section 16.3 on page 193).

The TR-064screen lets you enable management via TR-064 on the P-870HN- 51D (Section 16.3 on page 193).

The Service Control screens let you configure through which interface(s) users can use which service(s) to manage the P-870HN-51D (Section 16.4 on page 194).

The IP Address screens let you configure from which IP address(es) users can use a service to manage the P-870HN-51D (Section 16.5 on page 195).

16.2 The TR-069 Screen

TR-069 defines how Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), for example your P- 870HN-51D, can be managed over the WAN by an Auto Configuration Server (ACS). TR-069 is based on sending Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) between an ACS and a client device. RPCs are sent in Extensible Markup Language (XML) format over HTTP or HTTPS.

An administrator can use an ACS to remotely set up the P-870HN-51D, modify settings, perform firmware upgrades as well as monitor and diagnose the P- 870HN-51D. You have to enable the device to be managed by the ACS and specify the ACS IP address or domain name and username and password.
