Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

Complies with 21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11.

1.8 Installing Power and Ground for the 9101

1.8.1 Power and Grounding Cautions

Power and the primary ground for the Allied Telesyn 9101 shelf is provided by the power entry module plug and originates at the office ground.

This equipment is designed to permit the connection of the earthed conduc- tor of the D.C. supply circuit to the earthing conductor at the equipment.

If this connection is made, all four of the following conditions must be met:

1.This equipment shall be connected directly to the D.C. supply system earthing electrode conductor or to a bonding jumper from an earthing terminal bar or bus to which the D.C. supply system earthing electrode conductor is connected.

2.This equipment shall be located in the same immediate area (such as, adjacent cabinets) as any other equipment that has a connection between the earthed conductor of the same D.C. supply circuit and the earthing conductor, and also the point of earthing of the D.C. system. The D.C. system shall not be earthed elsewhere.

3.The D.C. supply source is to be located within the same premises as the equipment.

4.There shall be no switching or disconnecting devices in the earthed cir- cuit conductor between the D.C. source and the point of connection of the earthing electrode conductor.
