Using the BF900
Sending documents without scanning into the memory
If your BF900 does not have enough memory capacity and you are not ready to clear the memory, you can bypass it to send documents direct.

•Load the document
•Select the RESOLUTION, TYPE ORG and PHOTO settings if required.
•Press the FUNCTION button. Display shows
FUNCTION MODE 0~9,#,*,<,>.
• Press 3 (or the buttons) to display
DIRECT TX 0~9,#,*,>, ENTER.
•Press the ENTER button. Display shows
DIRECT TX SELECT LOC/START.
•Enter the number – you can use the keypad,
PRESS START.
•Press the START button. The number is dialled.
•If the number is busy or your BF900 is already transmitting, it displays the time at which it will attempt to redial.
•To cancel sending the document, press the STOP button. The machine returns to standby.
•If your BF900 cannot get through after attempting to redial, the display shows
OUT OF REDIAL. PRESS STOP.
•Press the STOP button to return the machine to standby and try sending the document again later.
Receiving faxes
Setting the reception mode
If you have a telephone attached to your BF900, you can select whether you want to answer all calls manually or receive faxes automatically.
Automatic (FAX) mode
MODE
•Press the MODE button to display FAX. Your BF900 will automatically answers calls and receive documents to the fax.
Received pages (from another fax machine or a PC) are printed and delivered to the printed document tray. If you are copying or printing when a call comes in, the pages received will be stored in the memory and printed later.
Manual (TEL) mode
This option only works when you have a telephone attached.

•Press the MODE button to display TEL. You can now answer phone calls (with an attached telephone) and receive fax calls manually.
•When the phone rings, pick up the attached handset to answer the call.
•If you hear fax tones, press the START button then hang up the phone. Your BF900 begins receiving the fax.
