To set up a relay

Press the FUNCTION button. Display shows

FUNCTION MODE 0~9,#,*,<,>.

• Press 7 (or the buttons) to display

PROGRAM TEL. NO 0~9,#,*,>, ENTER.

Press the ENTER button. Display shows

PROGRAM TEL NO. 1-5, <,>.

• Press 5 (or the arrows) to display

RELAY INITIATE 1-5 > ENTER.

Press the ENTER button. Display shows

RELAY INITIATE PRESS OT KEY.

Press the ONE-TOUCHbutton that you want to be relayed. Display shows *01=1234

PRESS ENTER.

Press the ENTER button. Display shows

RELAY LOC.=00 PRESS ENTER.

Use the keypad to enter the two digit relay location number.

This is the number of the relaying machine’s one-touch button under which the group of locations that will receive the document are stored.

Press the ENTER button to confirm the setting. The display shows DATA ENTRY OK followed by REPORT LOC=XX, PRESS ENTER.

Use the keypad to enter the two digit report location number.

This is the number of the relaying machines one-touch button under which is stored the telephone number of the fax machine that you want to receive the confirmation report. This is the number of your BF900.

Press the ENTER button to confirm the setting. The display shows DATA ENTRY OK followed by RELAY INITIATE PRESS OT BUTTON.

You can now set up a relay for another one-touch number or press the STOP button to return to standby.

Sending documents to mailboxes or network addresses

A Mailbox lets you send a document to be picked up by a specific person at another fax machine.

A Network address lets you send a document direct to a specific terminal on a computer network. Mailbox and Network address documents must be scanned into memory before sending.

To send to a mailbox or network address

START

Load the document.

Set the TYPE ORG, RESOLUTION and PHOTO settings if necessary.

Dial the fax number you want on the BF900 keypad.

Press the ENTER button. Display shows

NET ADDRS=PRESS ENTER.

Enter the net address if required.

Press the ENTER button. Display shows

MAILBOX NO=. PRESS START.

Enter the mailbox number if required.

Press the START button. The document is scanned. Display shows MEMORY TX. SCANNING MXX. You can now retrieve your original document.
