Operations (Step 3 Setting Using the V.Networks Controller)

3-5 Image Quality Setting

The "V.Networks Controller" can be used to perform image quality settings such as compression level and white balance.

1.Select [Setting] and [Quality].

2.Change the set values.

When setting is complete, click .

* When the [Distribution control ON] is selected, the left screen will be displayed.

OFF

Setting of compression level is possible when this is set to "OFF",

and images will be sent out at the specified compression level.

The smaller the value, the lower the compression level and hence

a higher image quality. However, data volume will also increase.

Set Value: 1 to 7

ON

Setting of bit rate is possible when this is set to "ON", and the

compression level of images will be automatically adjusted ac-

cording to the specified bit rate before they are sent out.

Set value: 32 kbps to 8 Mbps

Note

It will be necessary to establish connection again upon setting to enable display at the correct frame rate.

3-6 Frame Rate

The "V.Networks Controller" can be used to set a maximum value for the frame rate, which indicates the number of live image updates per second.

1.Select [Setting] and [Frame rate].

2.Set the [Frame Rate].

Set the maximum number of images per second that are sent from VN-C205.

(Factory Setting: 15)

Set value : 30, 15, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1,1/ 2,1/3, 1/5, 1/10, 1/15, 1/20, 1/30

Note

The actual number of frames received and displayed per second is dependent on factors such as PC performance, compression level of images and the LAN environment.

In the case of a LAN environment where multiple operations are being performed at one time (particularly when the network traffic is heavy), reduce the number of frames to be transmitted.

Caution

Frame rate for local recording cannot be set using this function. To set the frame rate for local recording, make use of the "VN-C205U Setup Tool" (Page 46).
