Bluetooth Operation (continued)

Pairing the Bluetooth system with your Mobile Phone and Head Unit

1.Press and hold the TEL-MENUbutton (28) until the PHONE button (25) blinks red. Keep the mobile phone within 2 meters of the head unit when pairing. To terminate the pairing process, press the CLEAR button (26).

2.Select the Bluetooth setup option on the mobile phone to be paired (please refer to the phone’s instruction manual to learn how to enter Bluetooth setup, turn Bluetooth on/off, and perform pairing).

3.Select “BT16” from the pairing list on the mobile phone. Enter “1234” as the password.

If pairing is successful, the display will show the pairing mobile phone model number for 3 seconds (example: “Pairing OK Bt16”). At the same time, a beep tone will sound and the PHONE button will stop blinking and turn blue. The Bluetooth” icon will display on the LCD to indicate that the pairing was completed successfully.

If pairing fails, “PAIRING FAILED” is flashed on the display for 5 seconds. Press and hold the TEL-MENUbutton (28) again within 5 seconds to try pairing again. If a key is not pressed within 5 seconds, the unit automatically returns to previous mode.

NOTE: During Pairing, only the Power, Volume +/- and Mute keys are functional. Other keys are disabled during pairing mode.

Reconnecting

Automatic Reconnection

The unit has a built-in Auto-Reconnection function. Each time the PHONE button (25) is pressed, the head unit will automatically reconnect with the mobile phone once (only if the mobile phone was previously paired with the head unit).

Manual Reconnection

However, under the following conditions, you may need to reconnect manually:

If the mobile phone is out of range (more than 2 meters from the head unit).

If the connection is lost and while talking on the phone (or there is an incoming call) more than 2 meters from the head unit.

When doing an audio transfer from the phone back to the head unit.

The Bluetooth icon on the LCD and the PHONE button (25) blinks repeatedly when the head unit loses connection with the paired mobile phone.

NOTE: The PHONE button stops blinking after a 4 minute time out.

To manually reconnect with the paired phone, perform the following steps, press and hold the PHONE button (25) (only if the mobile phone was previously paired with the head unit).

The LCD displays “CONNECTING….” and continues to flash during the connection period.

If the reconnection is successful, the LCD Display displays “CONNECT OK” for 5 seconds. The Bluetooth icon stops flashing and the unit automatically returns to the previous mode.

If the reconnection fails, the LCD display “Connect Failed” for 5 seconds. Press and hold the PHONE button (25) again within 5 seconds to try to reconnect again. If a key is not pressed within 5 seconds, the unit automatically returns to previous mode.
