DNC - dynamic noise covering
The DNC (Dynamic Noise Covering) feature increases the volume whilst the vehicle is driving. As its starting point it uses a volume level that is considered pleasant whilst the vehicle is stationary.
The volume is boosted by a different amount for each frequency band de- pending on how noise develops in the vehicle.
This ensures that the volume and sound can still be appreciated even if noise in the vehicle varies. Noises that only last a short time, such as crossing train tracks, are not taken into account.
Calibrating DNC
In order for this feature to work properly for your vehicle, you must calibrate it using the measuring microphone. Please carry out the DNC calibration after the DSA calibration. After calibra- tion you should permanently attach the microphone near the console using the Velcro tape, however, do not place it in the footwell, near locations where booming sounds can be heard or near the ventilation/heating.
The microphone’s opening must point towards the passenger compartment. Calibration should be carried out in a quiet location whilst the engine is switched off.
