SAFETY INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

	SYMPTOM	PROBABLE CAUSE	SOLUTION

	LIMITED DRIVING	Batteries not charged long enough.	Charge batteries overnight or
	DISTANCE.		ensure 8 hours of charge between
			use times (PROCEDURE 4).
		Batteries weak, won't hold charge.	Replace Batteries
			(PROCEDURE 4).

	BATTERIES NOT	Charger not working.	Replace Charger.
	CHARGING.	Battery Connections loose.	Check all connections. Secure
		Battery Connections loose.	Check all connections. Secure
			connections (PROCEDURE 4).
		NO current at wall outlet.	Switch to another wall outlet.
		BAD connection on Charger,	Replace Charger or internal
		Charger Cable, Plug or Internal	repairs required. Contact Dealer
		Wiring problem.	or Invacare.

	BATTERIES DRAW	Battery Failure.	Replace Batteries
	EXCESSIVE CURRENT		(PROCEDURE 4).
	WHEN CHARGING.

	CHARGE INDICATOR	Batteries weak, won't hold charge.	Replace Batteries
	SHOWS LOW CHARGE		(PROCEDURE 4).
	LEVEL IMMEDIATELY	Charger not operating.	Replace Charger.
	AFTER CHARGING.	Charger not operating.	Replace Charger.
	AFTER CHARGING.

	BATTERY INDICATOR	Have charger checked.	Service or replace charger.
	FLASHES THE CHARGE		Contact Dealer or Invacare.
	LEVEL IS LOW - TOO	Weak batteries.	Replace batteries (PROCEDURE
	SOON AFTER BEING		4).
	RECHARGED.

	SCOOTER WILL NOT	Brake-Release Lever disengaged.	Engage brake-release lever.
	DRIVE.		(procedure 3)
		Batteries require charging.	Charge batteries (PROCEDURE 4).
		Key not fully plugged in.	Ensure key is inserted fully into
			power plug jack.
		Charger plugged in.	Unplug charger from scooter.
		Circuit breaker tripped.	Reset breaker. If breaker trips
			again, it may indicate need for
			internal repairs. Contact Dealer
			or Invacare.
		Soft stop is engaged.If key is turned	With key in the "OFF" position,
		"OFF" while driving, the scooter	wait 30 seconds and turn key to
		artificially holds power for 1.5 seconds	"ON" position.
		slowly decelerating unit to a stop.

	MOTOR “CHATTERS”	Fuse is Blown.	Replace Fuse (PROCEDURE 3).
	OR RUNS	Electrical malfunction.	Contact Dealer or Invacare.
