8.For Panther MX-4 Models Built Before 10/00 - Without Delta Tillers (FIGURE 3):

WARNING

When reassembling scooter, ensure retaining pin is properly engaged in the hand brake cable. Otherwise, injury and/or damage may result.

A.Pull the retaining pin that secures the hand brake cable assembly together (DETAIL "A").

B.Remove the hand brake cable from the retaining tab located underneath the front shroud (DETAILS "B" & "C").

NOTE: Note the position of the locknut in relation to the frame tab for proper reinstallation. When re-assembling the hand brake cable assembly, the locknut must be positioned in front of the frame tab (DETAILS "D" & "E").

C. Remove the threaded end of the hand brake cable from the frame tab of the rear sub-

frame. DETAIL "A"
