TELEPHONE OPERATION

AT THE BASE

Answering a Call

To answer using the speakerphone, press Kon the base. The speaker light goes on and the call is connected. To end the call, press Kagain.

Speakerphone Volume Control

Press +to increase speakerphone volume. Press -to decrease volume.

Mute

Mute allows you to hear your caller, but prevents the caller from hearing you. To activate the Mute feature, press m, then select MUTE while on a call. The MUTE light on the base goes on and the screen displays MUTE. To deactivate the Mute feature, select UNMUTE.

Hold

Press H. The SPEAKER light flashes. To return to the call, press Hagain

Lift the handset of an extension phone on the same line.

Page/Intercom

The Page feature allows you to signal someone at the handset from the base.

1Make sure the HANDSET IN USE light on the base is off.

2Press ion the base. This sends a three-part paging tone to the handset.

3The display will show PAGING FROM BASE. Select INTERCOM. The INTERCOM/HANDSET LOCATOR light on the base goes on and the handset and base can communicate with each other without tying up the telephone line.

4Select OFF on the handset to close the intercom connection.

Handset Locator

This feature is useful if you misplace the handset.

To locate the handset using this feature, press and hold

ion the base for approximately four seconds. A repeating

paging tone is sounded at the handset.

To cancel the Handset Locator feature, press hon the handset or

ion the base.

This feature will automatically turn itself off in approximately three minutes if you haven’t turned it off before then.
