TELEPHONE OPERATION

AT THE HANDSET

Hold

Press Hto put a call on hold. The PHONE light flashes. To return to the call, press Hagain

— OR —

Press Pon the handset

— OR —

Press Kon the base

— OR —

Lift the handset of an extension phone on the same line.

Page/Intercom

Paging someone at the base from the handset

Press U.

Use the softkey to select INTERCOM. The screen displays INTERCOM ON.

A three-part paging tone is sounded at the base and the INTERCOM light at the base goes on.

You can speak to the person at the base. They can respond by speaking toward the microphone on the base.

NOTE: If the answering system is recording a call or playing messages, or if the speakerphone is on when you select INTERCOM, you will get an error tone.

Ending an intercom conversation from the handset

Use the softkey to select OFF. The display stops showing INTERCOM ON.

NOTE: Pressing Pwill also end the intercom conversation.

Answering a call while using the intercom

Press P. The intercom turns off, the PHONE light goes on, and the call is connected.

Using the intercom during a call

Press Hand then select INTERCOM. The call will be on hold and the other party will not be able to hear your intercom conversation.

To return to the call from the intercom, press P.
