Out of Range/ EDACS - A single pitched tone will

System sound immediately after the PTT switch is keyed indicating the radio is out of range of the repeater. The radio tries to place the call for a short period (3 seconds) after the initial attempt. The radio generates a second low pitched tone when it gives up trying to place the call. The system is off the air or the radio needs servicing when the radio is within calling rage, and these tones are heard.

GE-MARC - Five beeps will sound shortly after the PTT switch is keyed when the radio is out of range of the repeater or the radio is inoperative. If the “Call Retry” is active, the radio will try the channel at twenty second intervals for five minutes.
