Steamer Not Heating Up Properly or Not Cooking Properly, “Power” Light is Lit

Steamer not heating properly or not cooking properly,

“Power” light is lit.

Turn off steamer and check that it drains completely. If steamer does not drain, check drain path for obstructions. Turn steamer back on and wait 10 minutes.

Check that water-supply pressure is adequate.

DISCONNECT POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER

Check door switch (see page 29).

No

Door switch OK?

Yes

Replace door switch.

Reconnect door switch lead wires.

Check water solenoid (see page 32).

No

Water solenoid OK?

Yes

 

 

 

DISCONNECT POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER

Check high-limit thermostats (see page 30).

No

High-limit thermostats OK?

Yes

 

 

 

Replace high-limit

thermostats as necessary.

Check resistance between heating-cartridge contactor terminals and replace heating cartridges as necessary (see page 25).

Check water-level control sensor (see page 31).

Replace water solenoid.

Check for loose or broken wires (see wiring diagram).

If wiring is OK, remove screen

from strainer and clean or

replace as necessary.

Reassemble, reconnect, and recheck the steamer. If water still does not enter the steamer, examine the water solenoid and inline Y strainer for obstructions or deposits. Clean or replace as necessary.

Replace water-level

control sensor.

Check contactor (see page 27).
