Preparing and activating a replacement CM 4000

As discussed on page 2−8, CM 4000s can be installed as a redundant pair, so that failure of one unit will result in control being

taken by the second. A third unit can be kept in reserve and, in the event of a failure, have its address altered and be installed

to provide a quick replacement for the failed unit and restore system redundancy. See Figure K−1.
