By default, all serial p orts and the AU X/Modem port are di sabled. An administrato r must enable
and configure the p orts before anyone can use th em.Co nfiguration of ports differs based on t he
type of connect ed device, which can be either a de vice console, a PDU o r modem.
By default, all users can access all enabled and configu redp orts.The ad ministrator must decide
whether to restrict user access to ports by the assignment of authorizati ons to userg roups. A user
who is in an au thorized group is referred to as an au thorized user.
Some port configuration tasks are provide d as examples of how to use the CLI. See the Cyclades
ACS 6000 Installation/ Administration/User Guide for an o verview of the tasks the administrator
must do to configure restricted access to ports. For more information about how to follow t he
