Client Installation To set up the client part of the client/server version, you need to carry out the following:

Create public folders

Edit the client setup script (optional)

Install the client version on the client user’s computers

Creating Public A public folder can contain discs and launch objects. The Folders administrator prepares a set of folders and then makes these available

as public folders. When a user selects a public folder, the folder will appear in the AXIS StorPoint DISCO folder on the user’s computer.

To create a public folder:

1. Click File Public Folder Settings to check the settings for public folders.

2.On the Public Folders page, make sure the network path to the public folder data is specified correctly. The location was specified during the installation. Note that the location must be reachable from the users’ computers. If you want to change the path, click Change.

3.Click File New Folder to create a new folder.

4.Specify a descriptive name, and press Enter.

5.Select the new folder and click File Properties.

6.On the General page, enter a descriptive text in the Comment field to indicate its content.

7.Check the Make folder public checkbox to make this folder available to the users.

Note: As opposed to shared folders in Windows, public folders within AXIS StorPoint DISCO will not appear in Network Neighborhood.

Editing the Client When the administrator installed the server part of AXIS StorPoint DISCO, the Setup Script Setup program created a client setup script used for reducing the user interaction

during the client installation.
