Appendix C: Upgrading the StorPoint CD

Upgrading the Firmware

Using The StorPoint CD firmware can easily be upgraded by using the Windows Windows Explorer Explorer drag-and-drop.

Drag-and-Drop

To upgrade using Windows Explorer, you need the following:

•The file with the new StorPoint CD software. The name of this file is of the form product_version.bin, e.g. cde100_531.bin for the StorPoint CD software release 5.31.

•A computer running Windows Explorer.

Follow these steps to upgrade the StorPoint CD by using drag-and-drop:

1.Start the Windows Explorer.

2.Find the StorPoint CD.

3.Expand the Root and System folders.

4.Copy the new firmware file to the Flash folder.

5. Wait for the copy to complete.
