FTP You can retrieve the configuration parameters of your StorPoint CD using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP). FTP is supported by most operating environments.

Follow these instructions:

1. Log in to the StorPoint CD with the command:

ftp <IP address>

where <IP address> is the name or IP address of your StorPoint CD.

2.You will be prompted for user id and password. Use the user id root, which has the default password pass.

3.Windows 95 only: Change directory not to overwrite any of your system files. See the caution note below.

4.Change to the directory where the configuration file is located:

cd System/ServerProperties

5. To access the configuration file, type:

get config.ini

6.Edit the config file using any text editor. In the Windows 95/98 and Windows NT environments, you can for example use Notepad. Once the editing is complete, save the file as config.

7.To upload the configuration file to the StorPoint CD, type

put config.ini

8. To exit FTP, type the command quit, bye, or exit.

Caution! Windows 95 has a directory called config that contains important system files. It is therefore important to change to another directory using the cd command before modifying your StorPoint CD configuration file from within the Windows 95 environment. Failure to do this may result in some of your system files to be overwritten.
