Section 10 CD Grouping

In the Microsoft and IBM (SMB) and the Novell NetWare network environments it is possible to use your standard file management tool to create new folders under the Volumes folder. In the new group folders you can organize your networked discs into groups. It will make it easier for you to locate and access a required disc if it has been organized into a folder with a name relating to its contents.

Note: The Basic versions of the StorPoint CD do not support organizing discs using a file management tool.

Windows Explorer

Note: When creating group folders in SMB share level, you have to go to the root share and enter the root password.

Use your Windows Explorer to organize your networked discs into folders.

1.Select the Volumes folders.

2.From the File menu, select NewFolder and rename the folder.

3.Move the required discs into the new folder.

Note: It is NOT possible to copy and paste a disc into a new virtual folder, the disc

must be moved into the folder, i.e. use cut and paste instead.
