entering settings into the Virtual server
To enter settings, enter th e IP address in th e space provided for the
internal (server) mach ine, and the por t(s) required to pa ss� Then select
the port type (TCP or UDP), check the “Enable” box, and c lick “Apply
Changes”� Each inbound por t entry has t wo fields with fi ve characters
maximum per field th at allows a star t and end port range, e�g� [xxx xx]-
[xxxxx]� For each e ntry, you can enter a single port va lue by filling in
the two fields with the same value (e�g� [750 0]-[7500]) or a wi de range
of ports (e�g� [7500]-[9 000])� If you nee d multiple single p ort values or a
combination of ranges and a single value, you must use mult iple entries
up to the maximum of 20 e ntries (e�g� 1� [7500]-[ 7500], 2� [8023]-[8023],
3� [9000]-[9000])� You ca n only pass one port per intern al IP address�
Opening ports in your firewall can pos e a security ri sk� You can enable
and disable settings very quickly� It is recommended tha t you disable
the settings when you a re not using a sp ecific applicati on�
setting Client IP filters
The Router can be conf igured to restric t access to the I nternet, email, o r
other network servic es at specific days and times� Re striction can be set
for a single computer, a ra nge of computers , or multiple comp uters�
