setting the Time and Time Zone
The Router keeps time by c onnecting to a Simp le Network Time Pr otocol
(SNTP) server� This allows the Router to synch ronize the system cl ock
to the global Internet� T he synchronized c lock in the Router is used
to record the securit y log and control client filtering� Select the time
zone that you reside in� If you reside in an area that obser ves daylight
saving, then place a che ck mark in the b ox next to “Automaticall y Adjust
Daylight Saving”� The system c lock may not update immediately� Allow
at least 15 minutes for the Router to contact the time server s on the
Internet and get a resp onse� You cannot set the clock yoursel f�
enabling Remote Management
Before you enable this a dvanced feature of your Belkin Route r, MAKE
SURE YOU HAVE SET THE ADMIN ISTRATOR PASSWORD� Remote
management allows you to make changes to you r Router’s settings from
anywhere on the Intern et� There are two methods of remote ly managing
the Router� The first is to allow access to t he Router from any where
on the Internet by selec ting “Any IP address can remotely mana ge the
Router”� By typing in your WAN IP address from any computer on t he
Internet, you will be pre sented with a log in screen where you need to
type in the password of your Router� The sec ond method is to a llow a
specific IP address o nly to remotely ma nage the Router� This is more
secure, but less conve nient� To use this meth od, enter the IP ad dress
you know you will be acce ssing the Router f rom in the space provided
and select “Only this IP address can re motely manage the Router”�
Before you enable this f unction, it is STR ONGLY RECOMMENDED that
you set your administrato r password� Leaving the password empt y will
potentially open your Ro uter to intrusion�
