8Preparing the Wiring

All AutoDome Junior HD units provide three standard cables: an Ethernet cable, a 24 VAC power input cable for the camera, and an alarm input/output cable. An Outdoor AutoDome Junior HD unit provides an additional 24 VAC power input cable for the heater.

The Ethernet connection carries control and video information and can deliver power to the camera via the Power-over- Ethernet Plus (PoE+) standard. Refer to Section 9 Audio, Alarms and Relay Connections, page 82, for alarm connection information.

CAUTION!

Installation should only be performed by qualified service personnel in accordance with the National Electrical Code or applicable local codes.

CAUTION!

All wires for installation applications must be routed through a grounded conduit.

8.1Power

The recommended power cable is a 2-conductor, 14-18 gage cable, depending on the distance.
