Partially removing threads is called “drawnwork”. This gives a beautiful result with fabrics that have a loose weave.

Two ways to create drawnwork are described below.

Drawnwork (Example 1)

aPull out several threads from the fabric.

bAttach monogramming foot “N”.

For details, refer to “Replacing the presser foot” (page 42).

cSelect stitch 39.

For details, refer to “Selecting stitching” (page 49).

dWith the right side of the fabric facing up, sew along the right edge of the frayed section.

ePress on the LCD.

XThe pattern displayed at the top of the screen is mirrored.

fSew along the other edge of the frayed section so that it looks like the previous stitching.

gPress , and set the horizontal mirror image key back to OFF.
