Additional features

Mailboxes and passwords

In addition to fax and phone numbers, you can also store a mailbox number and a password for incoming documents.

A mailbox number sends a document to a specific mailbox at the receiving machine and can normally only be accessed by someone who knows the mailbox number. Not all fax machines have this facility.

A password can be used when polling a document from another machine. It provides security and the password must be the same as the password set at the polled machine. See Polling, page 31.

Mailboxes and passwords can only be used with fax machines which comply with the international fax standards.

Reports and lists

Your BF900 can print a range of reports and lists automatically. You can also request your machine to print out a number of reports on demand.

Automatic reception reports

After a document has been successfully received, a reception report is printed detailing the date and time of reception, the sender’s phone number and number of pages received.

Automatic error reports.

If there is a problem with a fax you have been trying to send, and it has not been successfully received, an error report is printed detailing the problem where possible. (Please see page 37.)
