HOW TO OPERATE

DataCD & DataStick

DataCD and DataStick can be used to download following files into JB-199 Premier :

Song files

Program upgrade files

Background video and still image files Configuration files.

The directory in which the files must be stored inside DataCD or DataStick is as follows:

- song files and juke.txt

/PROG/

- program upgrade files (startup.exe)

/PROG/UPGRADE/

- program upgrade files (JB99NEW.exe, JB99FTP.exe)

/IMAGE/MOVIE/

- background video files

/IMAGE/STILL/

- still image files

/CONFIG/

- configuration files.

So for the song files and juke.txt, they must be stored in the root directory. For program upgrade files, they must be stored in the sub-directory PROG under the root. Each upgrade will come with instruction in a readme.txt file for the required data structure.

DataCD or DataStick can contain multiple directories, each with its upgrade files.

A. Song files

The file format of songs that can be downloaded into JB-199 Premier are

MP3

- for Audio tracks

MP3 / MCG

- CD+G tracks

MP3 / CDG

- CD+G tracks

MP3 / MP3 / AVI

- DVD tracks

MP3 /AVI

- Video CD tracks

MDK

- MIDI tracks

The CDG file noted in this list is of the graphic file format produced by JBManager or JB-199 Manager program of CAVS. This is different from cdg (rw) files produced by other internet programs without compression. The file size of CDG of CAVS is usually around 100K bytes whereas cdg(rw) is of 1M bytes. The cdg(rw) can be converted to CDG of CAVS using the Encoder MCG program, available at www.cavsusa.com/playcdg_home/.
