Installing the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch Software Release 9.8 and Higher

This chapter describes how to install Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch and later releases of the

Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch software.

This chapter contains the following sections:

Before You Start

Before you start, perform the following steps:

1. Review the hardware and software requirements found in the document Release Notes for

Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch Release 9.8(1).

2. Have your company's internal support and Cisco support contact information readily available so

you can get help with the installation if needed. (If you have questions or need assistance, see the

“Obtaining Documentation and Submitting a Service Request” section on page x.)

3. Ensure that you have access to the console port on your Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch host.

4. Before you begin installing the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch software, make sure that the Sun

operating system is properly installed. Table 3-1 provides the location of the installation procedure

you might require.
