Troubleshooting in Banyan VINES

Backup jobs in Banyan can be configured by the user to report error information to the System Log.

NOTE: Banyan reports sense codes in decimal rather than hexadecimal.

Accessing the System Log from the

Operator menu

Follow this procedure:

1.Select 10 to obtain the System Maintenance menu.

2.Select 4 to obtain the Save/Display Server Log Reports

3.Select 1 to specify Server Operating System.

4.Select N to omit the consistency check.

5.Press Enter to obtain the prompt.

6.Press Return.

7.Specify whether you wish to display or save the System Log.

Accessing the System Log from the

Operate utility

Follow this procedure:

1.Select Manage Server Logs.

2.Select 1 to specify Generate.

3.Specify the System Log by:
