Retensioning a Cartridge
IMPORTANT: Use your software application to retension a cartridge.
Retensioning a cartridge consists of a complete wind/rewind operation.
The user should retension a cartridge in the following situations:
■Prior to writing to a cartridge
■After a read error has been detected. In this situation, use the following procedure:
❏Clean the drive.
❏Retension the cartridge.
❏Repeat the read operation.
❏If the read error is repeated, then the user should consider this to be a hard error. This may indicate that there is a problem with the cartridge: replace the cartridge and return to the beginning of this procedure.
