Usethe miter gauge when making cross, miter,bevel,
and compoundmiter cuts.To secure the angle, lock the
mitergauge in place by twisting the lockknob clockwise.
Alwaystighten the lock knobsecurely in pJaoebeforeuse.
NOTE=It isrecommended that you place the pieceto be
saved on the leftside of the bladeand thatyou make a
testcut onscrapwood first.
MAKING A CROSS CUT

It isrecommended you make test cuts on scrapwood.
Removethe ripfence by lifting thelockinghandle.
Setthe blade to thecorrect depth for the workpiece.
Set the miter fence to 0°and tighten the lockknob.

Placea support (thesame height as saw table) behind
thesaw for the cut work.
Makesure the wood is clear of the blade beforeturning
onthe saw.
Toturn the saw ON, lift the switchbutton.
Toturnsaw OFF, press the switch buttondown.
NOTE:To prevent unauthorizeduse,remove the switch
keyas shownin figure 41.
Letthe blade build up to fullspeed before movingthe
wot_piece_nto theb_ade.
Holdthe workpieca firmlywith both handson the miter
gaugeand feed the workpieceinto the blade.
When thecut_ made, turn the saw off. Wait for the
bladeto come to a complete Hop betore removing the
workpiese.
