To avoid unnecessarysetupsand adjustments,a
goodpracticeis to check yoursetupscarefully with a
framingsquare and make practice cuts in scrapwood
beforemaking finish cutsingoodworkpieces. Do not
startany adjustments untilyou have checked w_tha
squareand made testcuts to be sure adjustmentsare
needed.

Raisethe bladeguard and removethe throat plate.
TOremove, loosenthe screw at the front witha
phillipsscrewddverand I!ftthe front end. Pullitout
towardthe front end.
Raisethe blade toits highest positionby turning
theheight handwheel clockwise.Angle the blade
straightup by looseningthe bevellock handle and
turningthe bevel handwheet.Wedge a piece of
scrapwood againstthe front of the blade. See
Figure32.
Loosenthe blade nut withthe bible wrench
providedwithyour saw. Removethe bladenut and
bladewasher. Carefully remove the scrap wood
and blade.
To replacethe bladewith an accessoryblade,
follow theinstructionsprovidedwith theaccessory.
Toinstall a standard blade, place the new blade on
thearbor shaft,with teeth pointing down towardthe
front of thesaw, Wedge a piece of scrap woodat
theback of the blade. See Figure34.
CAUTION: Theteeth must pointdown toward
thefront of the saw to work properly.Otherwise,
damageto theblade, saw,or workpiece can
occur.

Placethe bladewasher and the blade nut over
theblade arbor. Besure the dome side of the
bladewasher faces out from the blade and that
allitems are snugagainstthe arbor housing.
Tightensecurely.
Removethe scrap wood and rotate the blade by
handto make sure it turns freely.
Slipthe throat plate intothe openingandpush it
towardthe back of thesaw to engage the spring
clip,Securelytighten the screw. If thethroatplate
isnotflush with the table, adjustthe setscrews
witha2mrn hex key. [3onot allow the throat
plateto bow up above the table surface.
