It isrecommended that you maketest cuts on scrap
wood. Standat the frontof the saw and pushthe
wood tothe bladewith the miter gage.

lowered over bladeand is workingproperlyto

Set the blade to the fightdepth forthe workpieceby
tumingthe height handwheel.
Set the miter gage to 0". Make suremiter gage
knobis securelytightened.
Placeasupportthe same height asthe topof the
sawtable behind the saw for the cut work.
The mitergage may be used ineither ofthe two
g_:_ovesinthe table. When using leftgroove, hold
workpiecefirmlyagainst theemitergage base with
yourleft hand and gripthe knobwithyour right
hand.When usingthe rightgroove, holdworkpiece
firmlyagainstthe miter gage basewith your right
handand gripthe knobwith your lefthand. See
Figure44.
Checkthat the woodis not touchingthe blade.
Insertthe key and liftthe switch to the ON position.
Letthe blade build up to fullspeed beforefeeding
theworkpiece intothe blade withthe miter gage.
Holdthe work firmlyagainstthe miter gage and
pushthe miter gage tofeed the work intothe blade.
When the workis completed,press the switchoff
and removethe key.
MAKING A RIP CUT

Making atest cut onscrap wood is highlyrecom-
mended. Fromthe front of the saw, posltioothe wood
againstthe rip fence and push it to the blade with a
pushstick.Be surethe end of the wood issquare.
Forsmall piecesof wood, use apushstickto move
thewood into and pastthe blade.
Makesure the wood is not touchingthe blade.
Insertthe key and lift theswitch to the ON position.
Letthe blade build upto fullspeed beforefeeding
theworkpieceintotheblade.
