61 Replacing the Display Panel

WARNING: The middle cover is heavy when the components are attached to it. It is recommended that two people remove and replace the middle cover while the components are attached to it.

Procedure

1Align the screw holes on the display brackets with the screw holes on the display panel.

2Replace the screws that secure the display brackets to the display panel.

3Align the screw holes on the display assembly with the screws holes on the computer base and gently place the display assembly over the computer base.

NOTE: Ensure that no cables are placed under the display assembly.

4Replace the screws that secure the display assembly to the computer base.

5Insert the ribbon cables into their connectors and press the tabs to secure the cables.

6Adhere the tapes that secure the ribbon cables to the display assembly.

7Replace the side-I/O board.

8Align the bottom of the middle cover with the computer base and lower the middle-cover assembly into the computer base.

9Route the display-power, LVDS, and touchscreen cables through the slots in the middle cover.

10Place the middle-cover assembly into the computer base.

NOTE: Ensure that all cables are routed through their routing guides and no cables are placed under the middle cover.

11Align the screw holes on the middle cover with the screw holes on the computer base.

12Replace the screws that secure the middle-cover assembly to the computer base.

13Align the screw holes on the side I/O-board shield with the screw holes on the computer base and replace the screws that secure the side I/O-board shield to the computer base.

NOTE: Ensure that you also secure the grounding cable with the same screw that secures the side I/O-board shield to the computer base.

14Connect the display-power, LVDS, and touchscreen cables to the system board.
