Troubleshooting Checklist

If the module is not working properly, refer to Table 4‐2 on page 4‐8 for a checklist of problems, possible causes, and recommended actions to resolve the problem.

Table 4-2 Troubleshooting Checklist

Problem	Possible Cause	Recommended Action

All LEDs are OFF.	Loss of power.	Ensure that the DFE module was installed
		properly according to the installation
		instructions in Chapter 3, and that the
		host chassis is providing power.

No Local	Incorrect terminal setup.	Refer to the Enterasys Matrix DFE-
Management		Platinum Series Configuration Guide for
Password screen.		proper setup procedures.

	Improper console cable	Refer to Appendix A for proper COM port
	pinouts.	pinouts.

	Corrupt firmware image, or	If possible, attempt to download the
	hardware fault.	image to the DFE module again. Refer to

		for instructions to clear NVRAM.

Cannot navigate	Improper username/ password	If the username/password combination
