This chapter describes what you can do if you are having
problems printing. It is divided into these sections:
Using the error indicators. This section describes how to
use the control panel lights as error indicators so you can
diagnose and fix printer problems.
Printing a self test. This section explain s how to run the
printer’s self test to determine whether the problem lies
with the printer or the computer.
Using hex dump mode. This section describes the printer’s
hex dump mode. Experienced users may want to use this
mode to pinpoint communication problems.
Problems and solutions. This section describes how to
solve problems with the power supply, paper handling,
printer operation, and the quality of the printout.
Clearing a paper jam. This section shows you how to clear
a paper jam.
Using bidirectional adjustment mode. This section explains
how to use the bidirectional adjustment feature to ensure
that vertical lines are properly aligned in your printout.
Use the information in this chapter to pinpoint the source of
your printer problem, and then try the recommended solutions.
