Comparecompares a selected device configuration from a stored location
withanother device configuration. The HA RTCom municator compares
devicetypes, variables, marked lists, etc. Messag esw ill appear indicating

makeany necessary changes result ingfrom your com parisons.
Inorder to produce a “Same / Differ” result, the following conditions must be
metwhen comparing two configurations:
1.Device type (including m anufacturer), device type number, device revi-
sion,and DD r evision must match exactly.
2.Configurations can only be c ompared against other configurations
containingthe same set of variables. The Communicator will notify you if
thiscondition is not met.
3.The format of data storage must match exactly. The Communicator will
notifyyou if this condition is not met.
Userassigned configuration names are no t considered, as they will differ.
ONLINE MENU
Witha HART-compatible device connected, press onthe Main menu
toac cess the Online menu (Figure 1-21).

TheOnline menu displays the name of the device on the first line of the LCD.
Youhave complete functionality for a specific device only when that device
descriptionis present in the HART Communicator. If the DD is not present in
theHART Communicator, contact your nearest service representative.
