4.To access the main configuration menu, select the applicable device
revision.The Onlinemenu for the simulated device is displayed.You can
nowuse the HART Commun icator as if it were connected to the selected
device,and perform any onlinetask.
Ifyou are unsure of the device revision, connect the HART Communicator
tothe device and determine its device revision level. This information is
mostcommonly accessed fro mOnline menu>Device Setup>Detailed
Setup>DeviceInformation. For more information, see you rdev ice-specific
manual.
SAVING A CONNECTED DEVICE CONFIGURATION
Selectingthe optionfrom any Online m enu allows you to save a
configurationtransmitted from aconnected device t o a permanent storage
location.
Tosave, change, and send a stored configuration:
1.Select .
2.Enter a storage location(Memory M odule or data pack).
3.Enter a Name an d configuration Data Type.Name defaults to the online
deviceTag, and the Data Type defaults to Standard with all editable
variablesmarked.
NOTE:Saved configurations have tobe “Full” for storing in yourPC in A MS
software.
Warningsappear if there is not enough memory to store the transmitted
configurationor if there is no list of configurable variables with Data Type
setto standard.
The keydisappears until you change any configuration data.
4.To change the configuration data, go into the Device Setup menu options
andchange the required data. For example, if the Tag needs to be
changed,start with the Device Setup menu and go into the Basic Setup
menuoptions, open Tag, and change the data.
Press toload the changed data, then press to send your
changesto the connected dev ice.
5.After each data configuration is sent,the functionkey appears.You
havethe option to save the individual variable or continue to change all of
thevariables and save them all at once.
