Looptest can fix the transmitter output at a specified analog value, and can
beused to test the integrity of the loop and the operation of indicators,
recorders,or similar devices in the loop.
Calibrationcan include such operations as configuring output related
parameters,performing a sensor trim, or performing an analog output trim.
Basic SetupPress toaccess the B asic Setup menu.
Thismenu provides quick access to a number of configurable parameters
includingtag, unit, range values, and damping. Figure 2-4 illustrates a
typicalBasic set up menu.

Thetag number identifies a specific device. Changing units affects the
engineeringunits that are displayed. Reranging changes the analog output
scaling.Changing damping affects the response timeof the transmitter to
smooththe output when there are rapid input variations.
Theoptions available in the Basic Setup menu are the most fundamental
tasksthat can be s imply performed with a given device. These tasks are a
subsetof the options available under the Detailed Setup menu.

Thismenu provides acc ess to every editable device parameter and all
devicefunctions. The Detailed Setup menu varieswidely from one HA RT
compatibledevice to another. Functions in this menu can include tasks such
ascharacterization, configuration, and sensor and outputtrims.
