Default file name setting [Default File Name]

The "Default File Name" menu item selects the default name format of an audio file which is created automatically when recording is made to a BWF formatted disc.

You can give a file name which has date information (according to the internal realtime clock), a scene name with a take number or a reel number with a file number.

(Note that you cannot give a file name to a CD-DA formatted disc.)

• Selecting "File name mode"

By selecting "Default File Name " on the SYS SETUP menu screen and pressing the [EN- TER/YES] key, the second level screen appears.

On this screen, "File name mode: xxx" is highlighted.

By pressing the [ENTER/YES] key again, the current setting (the default is "Take") starts flashing and you can now make selection using the [MENU] dial. You can select from among "Take" (default), "Date" and "Reel". After selecting the desired mode, press the [ENTER/ YES] key to confirm the setting.

If you select "Take", set "Default File Name" on the same screen (see below). (When you select "Date" or "Reel", the "Default File Name" setting is not effective.

Date

The internal realtime clock data (with ".wav", the file extension) is set to the file name.

Example: B05h 05m 06s 10may 2006.wav

 

 

 

 

"<SCENE NAME> + <TAKE NUMBER>" (with ".wav", the file extension) is set to the file

Take

name. The TAKE NUMBER is incremented automatically each time recording is made.

 

Example: Scene_001.wav, Scene_002.wav, ...

 

 

Reel

The reel number (= Vol. Label) which is set when formatting a disc is set to the file name.

Example: 123_001.wav, 123_002.wav, ...

 

 

 

• Default file name (SCENE NAME/TAKE NUMBER) setting

When you set "File name mode" to "Take" and press the [ENTER/YES] key, you can set the desired scene name and take number.

Use the [MENU] dial to highlight "SCENE NAME [SCENE]" and press the [ENTER/YES] key. The rightmost character of the current scene name starts flashing and you can now start entering a desired name.

To enter a name, use the [SKIP/CURSOR ] keys to move the cursor position and enter a desired name using the [MENU] dial or numeric keys. After entering the desired scene name, pressing the [ENTER/YES] key confirms the setting.
