Solving Envelope Feeder ProblemsWhen there is a problem with the envelope feeder, the printer control panel displays an error code
and error message. Most envelope feeder error codes indicate routine status conditions such as run-
ning out of paper or a paper jam. Someerror codes indicate much more serious problems that may
require the help of a service technician.
■If the printer control panel displays an error message or an error code, refer to “Interpreting
Envelope FeederError Messages” on page 8-10.
■If youhave an envelope feeder problem but the printer control panel doesnot display an error
message or error code, refer to “CorrectingMiscellaneous Envelope Feeder Problems” on
page 8-10 and follow the directions for correctingthat problem.
Envelopes Become Creased when Printing
If envelopesare creased or wrinkled after printing, lift up the fuser release leversat the left and right
side of the fuser unit, and try printing again.The printed image may appear thin using this
method, but the envelopeswill not be creased or wrinkled.
