Network administrator software components

HP Web Jetadmin

Network administrators can use HP Web Jetadmin to configure and manage HP products across a variety of operating systems.

NOTE: HP Web Jetadmin is not included on the software CD. Network administrators can download the HP Web Jetadmin software at the following Web site:

www.hp.com/go/webjetadmin

HP Printer Utility for Mac OS X

Network administrators can use the HP Utility for Macintosh OS X v10.4 and later to configure and manage HP products from the computer. The printing-system software CD-ROM includes the HP Printer Utility as part of the driver install.

HP Driver Deployment Utility for Windows operating systems

The printing-system software CD includes the HP Driver Deployment Utility as one of the installer options. Network administrators can use this utility to create a custom printer-driver installation package that includes organization-specific components. Select the components from the printing-system software CD. If the selected printer drivers support preconfiguration, you are prompted to preconfigure the printer-driver settings. Upon completion, the customization utility produces an executable file (*.EXE) and a *.CAB file. Use these files to install the preconfigured printer drivers on client machines. This utility supports silent, batch operations. To gain access to the customization utility, select Advanced Install Options on the first CD browser screen, select Administrator Software on the second screen, and then select Driver Deployment Utility.

In the Printers and Faxes folder, right-click the printer and select Properties. On the Device Settings tab, click Automatic Configuration, and then select Update Now. This automatically captures the new configuration in the driver.
