NOTE:

If you have a network connection already, type “NVER” in the PUBLIC directory at

 

the command line to view board settings.

 

It is important that you keep a record of the settings you use to configure the

 

 

network boards, because the NetWare Client installation program requires

 

specific information about the network board installed in each client

 

workstation.

 

Before loading the client installation program, record the values for the

 

following settings:

 

• Hardware interrupt

 

In most cases, you can use IRQ3 or IRQ5 for your network board if these are not

 

already used by COM2 and LPT2. If neither IRQ3 nor IRQ5 is available, see the

 

manufacturer’s documentation.

 

The following table shows the IRQ settings that are commonly used by other

 

devices, and the settings that might be available.
