Logging In from a NetWare Client Workstation

Ensure the following before logging in:

•The NetWare Client™ software is loaded

•If your client workstation can use an Open Data-Link Interface™ (ODI) network board driver, load the following software:

LSL.COM

Network board driver (for example, NE2000.COM)

IPXODI.COM

VLM.EXE

•If your client uses only a dedicated IPX™ driver (not an ODI™ driver), load the following programs:

IPX.COM

VLM.EXE

•(Conditional: if using MS Windows) The NetWare Client software has been loaded before MS Windows was loaded

•(Recommended) The NET.CFG file is modified for login

•If you do not modify the NET.CFG file, the Distinguished Name (complete name) for each login is required. See Chapter 7, “Setting Up NetWare Client Workstations to Log In,” for information.
