2. TrialInstallation
Youwill not be ableto adjust the mountingafter an inside the hull transduceris
installed.It is best, therefore, to performa trial installation first that includes
runningthe boatat various speeds,in order to determinethe best mountingarea
beforepermanentlymounting the transducer.
1. Plug the transducerinto the depth sounder, thenpower up the depth
sounder. Whenthe depth sounderdetects a functioningtransducer,it will
automaticallyenterNormal operatingmode.
2. Viewthe sonar signal at itsbest by holding the transducerover the side,
immersedin the water, sothat it is pointing straightdown over a known
flatbottom. Usethe display to benchmark againstthe sonar signal that
willbe detected oncethe transducer is placedin the hull.
3. Placethe transducer body facedown at the identified mountinglocation
insidethe hull,with the pointed end towardsthe bow (seethe illustrations
Positioningthe Transducerand PreferredMountingArea).
