1. Locating the HDR 650 Mounting Position
Youmust select an appropriate mountinglocation for the HDR 650. Consider
differentpositionson the console or deckof the boat, and note the following:
•Thecables forthe transducer andpower must reach themounting location.
Extensioncables areavailable.
•Themountingsurface shouldbe visible to the boat operatorand adequately
supportedto protectthe HDR 650 fromexcessive waveshock and vibration.
•Allow at least 2"clearance at the back, sides, and top of the unitfor
connection,air flow,and ease of installationand removal.
2. Cutting the Mounting Hole
Onceyou have selectedyour mounting location,perform the followingsteps:
1. Markthe desired mountinglocation, thendrill a pilot hole.
2. Drill a 2 1/8" diameterhole using a hole saw and hand drill.This is a
standardholesaw readilyavailable for rentalor purchase.If you prefer,any
marineservice shopcan perform this task.
