CAUTION

The del-lt-entry com- mand is very powerful, allowing you to change the entire switching database with the exception of the system MAC addresses. Use it with caution.

Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) Commands

get-arp-tbl

Displays the ARP table. The table lists the port and MAC address for each IP address the switch has communicated with recently.

add-arp-entry

add-arp-entry <IPaddress> <mac_address> <port>

Adds an entry to the ARP table manually. port is the switch port the device is connected to.

del-arp-entry

del-arp-entry {<IPaddress>*}

Deletes entries from the ARP table. If you enter an IP address, the matching ARP entry is deleted. If you enter *, the entire ARP table is cleared.

Use this command if the network topology physically changes. For example, when a management station moves from one segment to another and its port number changes.
