The BGC parameter is not available unless the THX ULTRA2 SUB parameter is set to OFF.
The THX ULTRA2 SUB and BGC parameters are available on the CUSTOM and THX SETUP menus. When a parameter setting is adjusted on the menu, it is automatically adjusted on the other menu as well.

Indicates whether or not the subwoofer connected to the audio output connector labeled Subwoofer is Ultra2 certified. Select ON if the connected subwoofer is Ultra2 certified and OFF if the con- nected subwoofer is not Ultra2 certified. When ON, the CUSTOM and THX SETUP menu BGC parameter (next column) are used to adjust boundary gain compensation. When OFF, the BGC parame- ter is not available (N/A).
Adjusts boundary gain compensation when the CUSTOM and THX SETUP menu THX ULTRA2 SUB parameter is ON. When the BGC parameter is ON, a highpass 55Hz filter is applied to all listening modes and audio output connectors. When OFF, no filter is applied to listening modes and audio output connectors. When the param- eter setting is N/A, the THX ULTRA2 SUB parameter is OFF and boundary gain compensation cannot be adjusted.
Note:
BGC compensates for increased bass energy that is caused by the proxim- ity of the speakers to the listening room walls.
