Restoring the factory default settings

1From the printer control panel, press .
2Press the arrow button s until Settings appears, and then press .
3Press the arrow button s until General Settings appears, and then press .
4Press the arrow button s until Factory Defaults appears, and then press .
5Press the arrow button s until Restore Now appears, and then press .
Wait for Submitting Changes to appear momentarily, followed by Re storing Factory Defaults,
before the printer retu rns to Ready.
Warning—Potential Damage: Restore Now returns all printer settings to the factory default settings except
Network/Port menu settings. All d ownloads stored in RAM are deleted. Downloads stored in flash memory are
not affected.

Using the Embedded Web Server

If the printer is installed on a network, the Embedded Web Server is available for a range of functions including:
Viewing a virtual display of the printer c ontrol panel
Checking the status of the printer supplies
Configuring printer settings
Configuring network settings
Viewing reports
To access the Embedded Web Server, type the printer IP address into the addr ess field of your Web browser.
Notes:
If you do not know the IP address of the printer, then print a network setup page and locate the IP address in
the TCP/IP section.
